Update 1-8-06

Yesterday was a resting and healing day for Andrea. She had a good day and continued to get more of her strength back. No dialysis yesterday and she still tolerated the tube feed for another day. Her temp was still up but hung around 100.4 all day. She sat up in the new bed (one that would convert into a chair) that they got her and had no problems.

Last night I stayed with her and she went to sleep around 10PM. Throughout the night she thought she was ready to go home (I don't blame her). She would put both legs off the side of the bed and raise her back up before I got up and told her she can't go just yet. It's great to see her getting more strength and thinking about going home. All night her temp stayed 100.4.

This morning her liver numbers were higher again (we want lower), but there is so many things that can cause this elevation. The good thing though is her platelet count was up to 134. One of the main things AML (Acute myeloid Leukemia) causes is a low platelet count and hers is almost back to the normal level. Let's keep on praying and we will get her out the hospital before we know it. Thanks so much for your concern and I will post another update soon.

J., I pray for you and Andrea every day, throughout the day. She is strong and will pull through this. You have no idea how much you being there is helping her to get better. Continue to hang in there and I, along with my family and friends will continue to pray for her. Kim C. sends her thoughts and prayers as well. This website is a wonderful thing. Thank you for allowing us all into your lives so that we may pray for Andrea each day.

J and Andrea:
I want to update you on some current events in Corinth, MS.
This weekend we had the County Basketball Tournaments. J. Your cousing, my nephew, Michael Wiginton was the STAR for Alcorn Central. He is a senior this year. In Corinth, for a county school to beat Corinth is like winning any tournament. The first night, Michael scored 18 points and the winning point to BEAT CORINTH!!! In the final game Michael scored 21 points, however; Alcorn Central lost by 2 points scored as the buzzer went off. Michael scored the points to tie the game just before that happened. Anyway, Michael was chosed as "ALL-COUNTY-TEAM.". This was the first in our family since I was chosen ALL-COUNTY in 1972, and your mother, Betty, in 1970. So, Michael is carrying on the "Family-Tradition!" We certainly hope Michael gets a scholarship; he is planning to go into Nursing, and become a Nurse Practitioner! How about that!!!
So far, Bobby and I are the only nurses in the family, but that will change!
Andrea and J, please know everyone continues to pray. God is GOOD, ALL the TIME! I am eager to hear Andrea tell of the miracles in her life!
Love,
Shelia
