I took Andrea to the eye surgeon and MDA today. Both doctors checked Andrea very thoroughly and said, "You are doing well, and I do not need to see you for a couple of weeks". We walked out of those visits, kind of dancing on Cloud 9, and by the time we left the last parking lot, Andrea had a list of things she wanted accomplished in the next couple of weeks. She is a full time job with doctor's visits and a long list of meds, but going somewhere else other than the doctor's office will be great!
Please keep the prayers coming, especially for Andrea's sight. Her eyesight is so very, very blurry at this time. The retina specialist gave us one name of a cataract doctor, but he said we could choose one of many good ones in Houston. If any of you know of a wonderful cataract specialist, we would like to hear your story.

Just wanted to leave a note and tell you all how much I love you. I'm so looking forward to the Grand Canyon...it will be such a great time for all of us.
Wow, two weeks is a huge thing!!! I am so happy for you. Before you know it, it will be a year between visits. You are making such wonderful progress.
If my eye surgeon is able to put my lens back into my eye this next time, then I will definitely recommend her. However, she is actually a cornea specialist, but when I see her on September 25, I will ask her for names of cataract specialist. I know there is one at Baylor, but I have never been to him before. My docter confers with him about replacing my lens.
I will keep my prayers coming your way, and enjoy your two weeks off. It is truly one of God's many blessings.

So happy to hear the good news. My brother-in-law who is an opthamologist in St. Louis and went to Baylor recommends Dr. Doug Hamill (who he says is the best) and Dr. Doug Koch. Both at Baylor. Thinking of you with prayers.

Andrea - a full time job? It would not be difficult to find some college guys to work as chauffeurs for you. Although Andrea is having challenges with her eye site, she is "easy on the eyes!" :) That would be a great job!

Hi Andrea-
My dad, who is an ophthalmogist in Madison, IN recommended two doctors that are known to be superstars of cataract surgery:
1. Dan Jones - Chairman of Ophthalmology @ Baylor
2. Jack Holladay - who he thinks is also @ Baylor
He also said however that cataract surgery is so routine these days that you shouldnt have a problem finding someone good regardless. I hope this helps.
I have been reading your blog regularly through out the year and think about you all the time. Your strength is truly an inspiration.
