Good News, Bad News, Again!

After the bone marrow biopsy and MRI, the first preliminary report on the bone marrow biopsy was clear of leukemia. Then the MRI report came back that the lesion in the brain was gone. Both great news....but the final report of the bone marrow biopsy showed the actual bone marrow stained slides with time showed cluster groups of cells that indicate leukemia is trying to make a comeback. So, with clearance of insurance, Andrea will be starting her second bone marrow transplant from Kristin's T cells the first week in March. There have been some newly approved FDA drugs in this process since the last transplant. Andrea's doctor is very positive this is her cure and so are we. Still, this is a very difficult process for Andrea to endure of 30 days in the hospital plus 100 days after release from the hospital of tests, fluids and drugs.
Thank you for your prayers in relying on another miracle from God.

Andrea,
Thank you for the updates in your medical care. You are so fortunate to have such an excellent team of physicians and medical staff. I want you to be assured we continue our praying for you and all of your family as you prepare to undergo treatment. There have been many rough acres of scrub brush that you have already gone through and it is quite evident to all that you, your medical team and God together have at every turn been clearing the brush out of the way, in His time...for His purposes. Andrea, through all of our continued praying and faithfulness while we stand together, we know we may trust Him for that good work.
My love to all of you,
mByr

Hi Luthringers and Martins,

I'm glad to hear that the lesion in the brain is gone and that the preliminary reports were good. I know gearing up for another transplant is difficult, but I also know that you can make it through. Just keep hanging on. Your progress is a testimony of how strong you are to continue to overcome and how God is strong in you (even when you don't feel strong at all!). I'm praying for you.

Hi Andrea,

The news about the lesion is great. I know you're not looking forward to the next few weeks, especially since you have gone through it all before. The second time is the hardest. We'll be praying for you, and hoping the time goes by fast, and that you will be back on your way to recovery again. I am glad that your doctor is positive about everything. Take care, and know you are in the hands of God.

Love,
Carolyn

Hey pretty lady!

I know that I don't need to tell you that you and your family are in our prayers b/c you know that you are!

I am sorry that your job (going to the doctor all the time) has become more demanding. Are they going to give you a pay increase? I will give you a recommendation...

Well, look on the bright side.Your new "marrow" birthday will be a March one (YAY) and not something in April! We all know March birthdays are the best!

I hope to visit with you and your family soon!

I love you, I love you, I love you!!!!!

This is Emily Brown (well, Emily White now) from the old days at Katy CoC. I have been following Andrea's progress for a long time now. We've had people in Oklahoma City praying for you! Your journey has taught me so much on faith and prayer. If it is okay with you and your family I would like to put a post on my blog asking people to say a prayer for you and your upcoming procedure...that this WILL BE the cure. Just know that there are so many people going to God on your behalf.
