New Responses

This past week the TIRR physcial therapist applied nerve stimulation to Andrea's right leg (which has been pretty much numb) and got some really good response. Since then Andrea has been able to slightly kick it, move and bend it more. yeah! The therapist says it is a good indication that Andrea will be able to walk again.......however, we know that could take a long time. TIRR occupational therapist mainly works on Andrea's right arm and hand which is showing some movement. The speech therapist continues to work on Andrea's muscles in her mouth and speech even though the feeling has not returned.
In the mean time Zeus loves being in his new home and welcomes Smokey (Betty's dog) or Tito (Bob's dog) very often and they all provide plenty of entertainment for the weekends.
Andrea still requires dialysis which makes her fatigued and is a real drag that limits shopping time or going places.
We are still asking prayers for the kidneys to restart and the hypeintensity to go away so the numbness will dissapate in her face and lips.
You all are so kind to read this blog and we think of you all daily because we know you have ups and downs in your lives, too.

Hi Andrea,
So glad to see and hear that progress is occurring. I will be at MD Anderson for my yearly checkup next week, and I always buy a little something from the gift shop that reminds me of someone or something (last year it was an angel for Alice). This year, it will be for you. I always mark it on the bottom of whatever I buy, and when I look at it, I think of that person all the time. Not to say that I don't think about you all the time now. My prayers continue for your kidneys and for your numbness to go away.
Love, Carolyn

Love you lots here in Mississippi. Hang in there girl...wish I were closer so I could bring my dogs over to play too. I have a Yorkie a lot like Betty's and we have just recently adopted a Maltese. His owners submitted him to the vet to be put down because of his age. Thankfully our vet refused..therefore they saw a sucker when I walked in. Lucky little dog...very playful and happy. Love you lots Andrea (J.too)

Andrea, J, Kathy, and Bob,

We keep all of you in our prayers daily and often each day. Andrea, you are so loving to keep on trying and working so hard in the face of so many obstacles, so much pain, and so much discouragement. Our loving Father has already worked so many miracles in you and we have faith that He can and will do more. As others have said you are definitely a role model and an inspiration to all of us. Kathy, please know that we are never weary in prayer for all of you and will continue to lift you all up. You epitomize to me the best that mothers can and should be. J and Bob thanks for your constancy and your love for our Heavenly Father.

Love and Prayers,
Laura and Ed Mohar
