The Weight is On

Andrea has made significant improvements over the past week. She has described it like a switch turned on inside of her. She has not gotten sick in ten days, and she has been pigging out. Not only has she gained nine pounds in one week, she has been able to see a lot more color. Andrea is thrilled about the changes and it shows in her attitude and energy levels.

This weekend was her first trip away from Houston. We went to one of my best friend's wedding, Dustin Duhon, in Austin, Texas. We also went to my parent's lake house on Canyon Lake on Saturday. She has not visited there since the week before she was in the hospital. I will post some pictures of the weekend on the blog very soon.

Andrea's doctor has decided to do a half dose of chemo next week to keep the leukemia from coming back before the bone marrow transplant. She was also informed that the doctor would like for her to do the transplant in about two months. Please continue to pray for her and we will bring her through this terrible ordeal. She would like to thank to all of you again for all the support and prayers.

Hi Andrea and J,
I have been to NY to visit Annie this past week, and I was so glad to visit the website today and see those wonderful pictures of you, and to hear the good news about your weight and your vision. You look gorgeous.
Annie sends her love and her best to you. She is doing good, and we had a good time visiting her. I took Jay with me this time.

The prayers from the Frazier family continue to come your way. You are making such huge progress.
God bless you all.
Love,
Carolyn

Hi Andrea and J (I'm sorry, I don't know your first name). My name is Kelly and I'm a counselor at McDonald Junior High School. I worked with your mom last year. Your story has touched me greatly and I'm so glad to hear that things are going better for you. I have a daughter and can only imagine what you and your loved ones have been through. I don't know if you know it or not, but you have so many people that are pulling for you!! Another thing I don't know if you know or not, but I'm participating in a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in your honor with a group called Team In Training (www.teamintraining.org). I walked a marathon 6 years ago with TNT and was inspired by you to give it another go by signing up for a century bike ride from Houston to Shiner! Like I said earlier, you have touched my life and I wanted to help in some way and this is the best thing I could think of. I wish you the best and as I said earlier, I'm so glad you are doing well. Keep up the fight! If you'd like more information about Team in Training, drop me a line. thefoxden@houston.rr.com

Praise God! You look so fabulous! It is obvious that love and prayers do work miracles. I am sorry I haven't come to see you yet, I have had a few little trials to deal with but Kevin and I will come soon. We are so happy and proud of you and we look forward to spending time with your folks again.
We love you and we are still praying for you.

Hey Beautiful!,
We love you so much. Know that you are always in our prayers. Dustin and my dreams came true when we saw you at our wedding-you are truely amazing! We couldn't have asked for anything more special! You are such a blessing. Remain strong in the Lord and he will help you through.

Love,
Cheryl & Dustin Duhon
