MDA day 50

Well, it is day 50 here and we are not "supposed to" be counting anymore. But, that is a way that Andrea knows just how long it is taking her to recover from this aspiration pneumonia gig. We do now know from tests this week that she can aspirate just from normal saliva each day, most likely when sleeping or even nappping when Andrea cannot grab the suction tube to get the stuff out of her mouth before it goes down into the lungs. She has started coughing, (that is good) otherwise it would go straight to the lungs. That is what aspiration is .....when any fluid goes to the lungs instead of the stomach. Anyway, Andrea is getting better, but the steps are smaller than she would like. So, we continue to pray for aspiration to stop and the neurological condition to improve.
Thank you for your prayers as we continue to pray for you and your family too.

50 is just a number. We know, because it was our age once upon a time!! We are happy to read about improvements--no matter the size. You know, sometimes, small is better!! However, our prayers for you are huge, big, enormous, gigantic, etc. We continue to ask God several times each day for your continued improvement, for peace and joy, and for strength from Him!! We rejoice in improvement!! You go!! Love you bunches, Gay & Doug

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I know it would be a much happier one if you were out of the hospital, but I still hope you have a great day. We have family in, so I'm hoping to come up early this week. Lots of love!

Andrea,

Happy Birthday!!!! We are now only 2 years away from 30:( I am sorry that it is taking you longer than you would like to get out of there, but we have faith that it will be sooner than later. You are now a celebrity around our house with Avery, by the way, as we pray for you together each night.

I hope that you have a good day today. I will be down there in early May and will come visit you.

Love you,

Michelle Meyer

Andrea,
Just wanted you to know that we'll never cease praying... pleading... for anything less than a total healing of your precious body. We're in awe of your great courage and strength of will to fight for over 50 days now and celebrate the progress you're making.
Much love to you and your sweet family,
Sam and Tracey

Hi Andrea -- just praying that they figure out what they need to do about the aspiration, and that you grow stronger with each new day.
Love, Carolyn
