Doctors Talking

Andrea's pain level has come down enough for her to get out of bed and walk around the nurses' station in her unit and up and down the hallway with her rolling "tree" of medicine, antibiotics and pain reducers. Now the doctors are talking about putting in a PICC line (peripherally inserted central catheter) which goes from her upper arm into her heart. They will use that line for the powerful antibiotics that she will need for at least 21 days. One doctor said she may be released to go home by the end of the week but did not want to get hopes up without talking with the other doctors. We should see the grand parade of all doctors Monday morning.
The bone marrow biopsy from last week came back with zero % leukemia cells. We were in the hospital room when we were told the results and it gave us such joy and relief from everything else that Andrea has endured the last few days.
The power of prayer and God's healing keeps us all going.

Hi all,

Sorry to just now be commenting. I was out of town part of last week and didn't check your posts, but I'm all caught up now. I'm so sorry to hear you're back in the hospital. I'm sure it brings back some dreaded memories, but hopefully you'll be out of there in no time. I'll be at work Monday and Tuesday and will give you a call to check in. Hang in there!

By the way, Andrea, beautiful picture of you and J. I'm so glad you have each other. It's like the saying goes, when you have someone you love by your side, your sorrows are halved and your joys are doubled. Keep leaning on those closest to you.

Talk to you soon. You're in my prayers.

Just remember PICC lines and high heels don't mix well! Emily was wearing her Cinderella high heels one day when we started the PICC line journey with Malachi and oops one PICC line was pulled! LOL! Just be CAREFULL!!!! I know this is a much better way to get meds. We are praying!

I so appreciate the daily updates. I know you all have so much going on, but it is great to hear the everyday things that are happening. The first thing I do when I get up everyday is to check on Andrea.

I think I had a picc line put in during my surgery. I didn't even know it until they came in to take it out.

I'm so glad Andrea is up and walking. I pray she gets to go home soon.

Love and lots of prayers to the Martins and Luthringers.
