Way to go Andrea 1-17-06

Today Andrea was able to get up and walk down the hall over 60 feet with a walker under her own strength. The only help she had was getting up and guiding her in the right direction because she can't see. She is getting better and better at walking every day. Andrea also got up today and walked to the shower to get her first real shower in 55 days. These are both huge steps for her and we continue to encourage her every step of the way.

The doctors are still extremely impressed with her progress and she is getting closer to the day when she go home. Our plan for her when she gets out the hospital is for her to go to my parents house where we will sleep in my parents downstairs room. There we can cuddle with Zeus (her dog) and she can get stronger in the heated pool. Every day she expresses how she wants to go home after she has her eye procedure. The eye doctor will be in tomorrow and will do the procedure very soon. As soon as the procedure is complete they will take the trachea out. I think this will help with her cough and make her feel so much better. I can't wait to get her home. She will do so much better emotionally when we get her out of that hospital.

Today was another great day and we are so proud of her. Please continue to pray for her eyes and for all of her organ to continue to improve so she can go home. Thank you everyone for all the support and encouragement. I continue to read her all you comment everyday and it always puts a smile on her face. God Bless.

Andrea,

Your strength and determination are amazing! I have NO DOUBT you will be leaving the hospital soon :) You have been such an inspiration to all of us who have been praying for you and following your progress. Earlier this evening, I checked on you & your mom (you were both sleeping :)) Then,I went over and shared with your ICU nurses your progress over the last week and they were jumping for joy and are so happy for you. I hope you get to sleep in a non-hospital bed VERY soon. You are in my every prayer. Love,

Hi Andrea,

With God by your side you can do anything, he will give you the strength to overcome. Keep being strong, in my heart I know God will heal you completely and make it all disappear.

J. this is great news. If Andrea goes to your Mom's and Dad's house she will have lots of pets to play with....Does your Mom (or Mary) still have the cats? I have the most beautiful Himalayan male cat. I wouldn't want Mary to see him because she would want him. At your Mom's house you both will get lots of petting...and care. I am anxious for you, I know you can't wait. We think of you both daily and all of our friends are praying for Andrea's recovery. Keep the good news coming.

Dre,

I have been out of the country and without a computer for some time now. Today is the first opportunity I have had to see read about your progress. I am so amazed at how quickly you have been re-gaining your strength. You are contantly in my thoughts and prayers. I can´t wait to see you at home in your own bed with Zeus upon my return to the states. Luv you.
